Petoskey District Library is announcing a change in how patrons can access Creativebug, an online platform for art, crafting, and DIY tutorials. Since 2020, the library has provided Creativebug as a standalone subscription service to patrons, However, this service will end on December 31, 2024. Starting in the new year, much of the current Creativebug catalog will be available through the library’s hoopla service as part of its popular seven-day BingePass program.
This transition to the BingePass format offers patrons a straightforward new way to explore lifelong learning and creative expression. With one of their four monthly hoopla credits, patrons can access the Creativebug library for seven consecutive days. This model provides immediate access to Creativebug’s extensive collection of videos and tutorials, while offering a more cost-effective solution for the library. The library only incurs a fee when a BingePass is borrowed, unlike the previous model that required annual payment.
“We’re thrilled to continue offering Creativebug through hoopla,” said Public Services Librarian Jodi Haven. “This change not only provides greater flexibility for our patrons, but also ensure the library can manage its resources more effectively while delivering the high-quality services our patrons are used to.”
The Creativebug BingePass on hoopla is set to launch in early 2025.
